Boilerplate
Boilerplate, on the Web as elsewhere, is a standard collection of text,
information, or "page pieces" that can be easily personalized. Just as one can
buy a form on which to write a will, there are boilerplate chunks of HTML that can be
used on the WWW. For example, companies that provide web pages for a very low set
fee, typically use lots of boilerplate into which they enter the specifics for a particular
company or individual when they construct their pages.
